Summer Teacher Workshop on Persia

Document Actions
The World Affairs Councils of America thanks the Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian - Americans for its sponsorship of a summer Teachers Workshop on Persia, held July 8-11, 2008.

The 2008 Teachers Workshop on Persia was held July 8 - 11, 2008 in Washington, DC. This exclusive workshop will offered 18 teachers from around the country the opportunity to meet with State Department and World Bank officials, academics, and other Persian experts in an intimate setting to gain a comprehensive understanding of Persia's politics and culture. The program was open to all high school educators and focused on Persian culture, history and politics.

The workshop was supported by a generous grant from the Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA), which also provided assistance in coordinating the guest speakers.

The 3-day workshop was covered by CNN International's Jill Dougherty; coverage can be seen at: http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2008/07/13/dougherty.us.teaching.iran.cnn?iref=videosearch.
